Propolis is a substance which is better known as “bee glue”. The process begins when a propolis-making bee gathers resin from cone-producing evergreen trees or from the buds of trees.  When the honeybee combine the sap with their own discharges and beeswax, they create a sticky, greenish-brown product that is used as a coating to build their hives. Propolis also is a protective resin that safeguards the beehive from fungi, parasites, bacteria and viruses*.
